Basketball

I always said I wouldn't want to coach, because it takes too much time. Well, I just couldn't get myself away from it.
I went to a few Freedom Academy girls' basketball games. Every game I kept thinking, if I were the coach, I would teach them this, or say this to them, or run this drill with them, etc. One game the coach was slumped down and didn't say hardly anything to the girls. I was flabergasted!
I went home and told Matthew I was interested in coaching. He suggested that I see if I could help with the team this year, see if I really liked it, before I go full fledged into it.
The next day I was talking to the athletic director about the girls' basketball team. He said he didn't know what to do with the girls' team. The coach (who is a parent volunteer) seems that she took on more than she could chew. She has 5 kids and just found out she is pregnant. He said he was even considering stopping the girls' team. I said I would be happy to help out with it.
I LOVE it so far! I think I'm addicted. It's been about a week. It's fun to be a part of it. It's fun to help the girls. It's fun to boost them up, teach them, and see them progress. Even in such a short time. I'm still trying to figure out how to be the assistant. (I wouldn't mind being the head). There are still some challenges and difficulties, but on the most part, I'm really enjoying it.
We won our game last week - AWESOME! I enjoy the girls, and it seems they like having my help. Because it's 7th/8th grade, it doesn't take as much time as a high school team. I get done with practice by 4:30. Game days I'm done by 6:00. So, it's not a ton of time and stress.
I'm really loving it. I wouldn't be surprised if I am asked to be the head coach next year, that at this point, I would be totally happy with!
It does make me want to play though - I totally miss it. However, our ward is going to start up basketball again in a couple of weeks - I can't wait for that!

Car for SALE!!

I love cars. I hate cars that don't work though. I'm ready for a new car - not my bug - Matthew's car. I won't bore you with all the details, but last August we took our car in for repairs - spent over $1000, then took a trip to Boise. We missed my nephew's baptism, because our car wouldn't go over 60 MPH. We left our car there, and 2 weeks and $850 dollars later we picked it up. Only to find out it was running at 60%. A few repairs later and lots more money later, they now tell us we need a new engine. $6000 for a new one. $2500 for a used one. Car is only worth $1700.

Anyone want a half running Ford Contour? You can get it dirt cheap - it's natural gas - we'll practically give it to you to get it off our hands and out of hair!
