Our House!!!!

Okay - so here's the story on our house. About mid January Matthew came home from work and told me he had gotten a little bored at work, so he was looking houses and sent me some to look at. I looked at them, thought they were pretty cool and pushed it aside. The next day, I got a little bored, so I thought it would be fun to look at some houses. I've done this a number of times before. I like to see what's out there and dream. Well now our dream is becoming a reality - but it still feels very much like a dream!

I found a house that seemed like a great deal, so we contacted some people who helped us take a look at it. Before we knew it we were calling a realtor. Shortly after that we were house hunting. We looked a few houses, then found one that we really liked. It seemed to have all the elements we were looking for - good price, close to the freeway, good size (almost 2000 sq ft), large yard (.24 acres), newer (2006). It also has some added bonuses - 2 car garage, walk in closet in the master bedroom, lots of windows. 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. It was a short sale, and there was already an offer on it. We thought our chances were low of getting it, but we decided to go for it. We weren't in a hurry, so it would be fine if it took a while for it to go through. We were soon bumped up to first position. A few weeks later we had a verbal offer, and few days later we had a written offer. Our Realtor told us it's the fastest short sale he has done in the last year.

We are so excited! I am still just in shock! I can't believe it's happening! We've talked about buying a house many times, and I've dreamed about it for a long time, but it's becoming a reality! So cool! We'll close within a month.

It's in Springville, about 3 miles directly west of where we currently live. It has some minor things we need to do on it - like grout some tile, paint the house (they painted it SO Ugly! - The downstairs is gold and maroon. One bedroom upstairs has a different color for every wall, red, blue, green, and yellow. Another room is green and brown. Another room is red, white and blue.) So we'll definitely do some painting. We'll need to give it a very deep clean and some other little things, but nothing major.

We'll probably move in around June. We'll use May to get it ready to move in. That's so close! We are so excited!!! I'd post pictures, but the ones online are just outside shots, and they are awful. You'll just have to come visit us to check it out!

In the News

I'm on the news!

Just for a little blip - I'm leading a dance with the students. If you go to
http://www.heraldextra.com/, go to the local news and find "Freedom Academy...." It's that little news article. Pretty fun!

Just thought I'd share.

Provo and Orem Maceys

We got our jam into Provo and Orem Maceys so far. Yes!!!! It can be found in the frozen section, next to the cool whip and frozen berries. Make sure you get ours - Naturel Freezer Jam. If you haven't try it yet, you definitely need to. I had a sister in our ward who bought a jar of it for her family to have on ice cream for dessert. She was thawing it out, came back a little while later to find it gone. She asked her kids if they had some. One said, "I just had a little bit on my sandwich." Another said," I just had a little bit." Another one said, "I had it. It was so good. I was eating it by the spoonful." Caught!!! I laughed SOOOO hard at this! Especially because on our labels it says, "it is so delicious you'll be tempted to eat it by the spoonful." Tempted she was and she indulged! Love it!!!!
My awesome dad is going to be sampling our jam in the Provo Maceys this Saturday - you should come test it out if you haven't, and you should take a jar home with you.

Rex Lee Run

Matthew, my Mom, Dustin, Alicia, and I ran the Rex Lee 5K race yesterday. Proceeds go to cancer research. Dustin and Alicia have run this race for the last 6 years. I ran it last year and this year. We invited my mom to do it with us. She was a champ!!!! Wow! I kept telling her we could walk the whole time if she wanted, and that we were doing it to finish, not to get a certain time. She ran most of it. There were times I had a hard time keeping up with her! She was passing people right and left! We ran it in 35:00:01. She took 1st in her age division! See how fast she is???!!! It was so awesome! What a great privilege and blessing that was to run it with my mom. I got teary eyed a few times throughout the race, because of the miracle I was participating in. My mom is going on 5 year cancer free!!! She is a fighter! I sure love and admire her! I'm so glad she is here now, and that we could run this race together. What a fun and great opportunity!!!
